Basic Scripture:

Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 3:13-14 NKJV)

Message:

In life, we all have a past that we may not be proud of. Whether it be mistakes we have made, regrets we hold onto, or failures we have experienced, our past can often weigh us down and hinder our ability to move forward. However, as Christians, we are called to let go of our past and press on towards the future that God has in store for us.

Usain Bolt had to let go of his disappointment from the Athens 2004 Olympics. He didn’t allow his early exit due to injury to define his future. He made a concerted efforts to overcome his previous setback.

One key point to remember is that we are all human and we all make mistakes. It is important to acknowledge our past, learn from it, and then move forward with a renewed sense of purpose and determination. Holding onto past regrets or failures will only hold us back from reaching our full potential and experiencing the blessings that God has in store for us.

In order to press on toward the goal, it is important to stay focused on Jesus and His calling for your life. To achieve this will require setting aside distractions and keeping your eyes fixed on Him. By prioritizing time in prayer, reading the Bible, and seeking God’s will, you can stay focused on what truly matters.

The Christian walk is not always easy, and there will be obstacles and challenges along the way. However, Paul encourages believers to press on despite these difficulties. This means persevering in faith, trusting in God’s strength, and not giving up when faced with adversity. God’s grace and power, can allow you to press on towards the goal with determination and perseverance.

As Christians, we are called to run the race of faith with purpose and intentionality. To live with a sense of mission and direction is to strive to fulfill God’s will and bring glory to Him in all that we do. Aligning your goals and actions with God’s purposes can help you run with purpose and make a meaningful impact for the kingdom of God.

Moving past our past is essential for our growth and development as Christians. We have to follow the personal experience of Apostle Paul and focus on what lies ahead, to overcome the obstacles of the past and move forward with confidence and faith. May we endeavor to abide by kingdom principles in our daily lives, seeking to win the prize for which God has called us heavenward in Christ Jesus.
